Sandy Tunwell
Founder/ Managing Consultant

Sandy has combined her vast knowledge of accounting with her social skills to develop a unique approach to bookkeeping and accounting which has been recognized by many clients.   She aims to have this high standard with her team by focusing on the how’s and why’s of accounting.

She has shared her knowledge with new and small business owners as she has more than 2,000 teaching hours and has given many workshops covering a variety of accounting topics as well as authored several articles for local newspapers.  Sandy has written many accounting manuals, including several SAP topics for the federal government.

Sandy is an active member of several organizations in Ottawa including the Board of Trade as she believes networking is an important part of building relationships. She has served on many boards and played an active role on many committees, including several as treasurer.  She has also recommended, initiated and been involved in many finance committees for clients.

Sandy was a Finalist for the Ottawa-Carleton Business Achievement Awards, Young Entrepreneur of the Year. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, and has been known to take a cruise or two.  What you may not know is she went to Australia because of an orangutan named Dinar!

Amanda McLeod
Senior Accounting Associate

Amanda has a Bookkeeping Diploma from Algonquin College and has been working in the accounting field for 10 years, with a strong focus on not-for-profit organizations. For the previous 6 years, Amanda was employed in the Finance Department at the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa.

She started working with accountrain inc in September of 2009 as a casual Bookkeeper in pursuit of a broader range of bookkeeping experience. By September of 2010, she started working full time for accountrain inc and is thoroughly enjoying the variety of responsibilities and personalities she now gets to work with on a daily basis. Amanda loves a challenge and often helps with new clients that come to us with a "mess" to clean up.

Amanda has an outgoing and bubbly personality which, on numerous occasions, has been identified as unusual in this line of work! Clients have often commented on how well she "fits in". In her spare time, Amanda enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee, dancing, watching movies and spending time with her friends and family, especially her "look-a-like" daughter.

Elsa Berhe
Senior Accounting Associate

Elsa is qualified through the Business Accounting program at Algonquin College, from which she graduated in 2015. She is an accommodating and versatile Bookkeeper who works with take-away home files and on-site clients; she is also our in-house Quick Books Online (QBO) expert.

Elsa is organized, reliable and diligent. She quietly blends into our client environments as needed.

In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, exercising and learning news things. accountrain inc is grateful to have Elsa’s talents under our umbrella.

Puspa Nana-Randing
Intermediate Accounting Associate

Puspa is a seasoned Bookkeeper, bringing her 9 years of experience and talents to accountrain inc. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, and studied Micro Accounting at Algonquin College to further advance her technical skills in accounting software. 

A dedicated, kind and well organized Bookkeeper, accountrain inc clients and peers alike, always appreciate Puspa's trademark smile. 

Fun fact: Puspa is a foodie who enjoys any kind of food and loves to watch animated movies and comedies with her kids in her spare time. 

Anna Griga
Intermediate Accounting Associate

Anna Griga holds a formal education in Bookkeeping along with a certification as a Quickbooks Online ProAdvisor. She is a meticulous, dedicated and highly knowledgeable bookkeeping professional, credited with more than three years of progressive roles including General Bookkeeper and Assistant Bookkeeper, coupled with strong experience in technology. 

Highly organized, detail oriented, analytical and innovative, Anna is consistently recognized for her ability to take initiative and complete work to the highest standards. She is a quick study, with proven adaptability to new technology and applications. 

Personally, she loves to travel and learning new things. Her diverse hobbies include CrossFit, stand up paddle boarding, mixology and wine pairing. 

Lisa Brigham
Bookkeeper
Lisa is a graduate of Carleton University, and holds a Bachelor of Arts. She spent 16 years in the private sector, successfully leading and filling the roles of Bookkeeper, Administrator, Office Manager and General Manager. Lisa’s motivation to join accountrain inc was to fuel her passion for bookkeeping and problem solving.
 
Lisa enjoys her ability to help entrepreneurs stay focused on their goals and not on their books.  She is meticulous, and an excellent planner. 
 
Beyond work, Lisa's love of the great outdoors means you can find her on one of Ottawa’s many great walking trails in her downtime. She is an avid world traveller, consumes books like they are food, and enjoys party planning. 
 
 
 
 
Will Hillock
Tax Specialist

Will is a CPA, CA who helped small and medium sized businesses for over 5 years while working for a mid-sized public accounting firm. Now working in private industry, he continues to work with accountrain inc to keep his skills sharp and for the enjoyment of engaging with various clients who all have different needs.

When he's not catching up on the most recent tax law changes, you'll find him on the golf course working on his swing. Will also enjoys travelling the globe and is a foodie at heart.

Debbie Beamer
Accounts Receivable

In addition to working for accountrain  administration department for the past 2 years, Debbie and Sandy Tunwell have a friendship that spans almost 30 years. They met as junior bookkeepers at a property management firm in Ottawa and attended several night classes together in the accounting program at Algonquin College back in the 1980’s.

Being semi-retired, Debbie is happy to have a part-time job to try and keep her brain working!
