Sandy Tunwell
Sandy has combined her vast knowledge of accounting with her social skills to develop a unique approach to bookkeeping and accounting which has been recognized by many clients. She aims to have this high standard with her team by focusing on the how’s and why’s of accounting.
She has shared her knowledge with new and small business owners as she has more than 2,000 teaching hours and has given many workshops covering a variety of accounting topics as well as authored several articles for local newspapers. Sandy has written many accounting manuals, including several SAP topics for the federal government.
Sandy is an active member of several organizations in Ottawa including the Board of Trade as she believes networking is an important part of building relationships. She has served on many boards and played an active role on many committees, including several as treasurer. She has also recommended, initiated and been involved in many finance committees for clients.
Sandy was a Finalist for the Ottawa-Carleton Business Achievement Awards, Young Entrepreneur of the Year. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, and has been known to take a cruise or two. What you may not know is she went to Australia because of an orangutan named Dinar!

Lisa Brigham
Intermediate Accounting Associate
Lisa is a graduate of Carleton University, and holds a Bachelor of Arts. She spent 16 years in the private sector, successfully leading and filling the roles of Bookkeeper, Administrator, Office Manager and General Manager. Lisa’s motivation to join accountrain inc was to fuel her passion for bookkeeping and problem solving.
Lisa enjoys her ability to help entrepreneurs stay focused on their goals and not on their books. She is meticulous, and an excellent planner.
Beyond work, Lisa’s love of the great outdoors means you can find her on one of Ottawa’s many great walking trails in her downtime. She is an avid world traveller, consumes books like they are food, and enjoys party planning.

Nora McCowan
Bookkeeper and Admin Assistant
Nora spent the last 34 years working in the private sector as a dedicated office manager, delivering clerical and bookkeeping support, for an Ottawa based aviation company.
Her accounting work focused on managing accounts payable and accounts receivable including dealing with vendor and customer inquires. She also maintained the payroll for 11 employees.
She has opted to work part time as she eases into retirement. Having met Sandy through her previous employer, it is a good opportunity to work part-time to keep the brain engaged.
In her spare time Nora enjoys swimming, reading, going to movies, live plays and listening to music.

Shivani Arora
Intermediate Accounting Associate
As an experienced bookkeeper with a demonstrated track record of excellence, Shivani brings three years of invaluable expertise to the table. Shivani’s career has been dedicated to supporting small to medium-sized businesses in maintaining accurate financial records and achieving financial stability.
Throughout her professional journey, they have honed their skills in financial data management, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Shivani is proficient in utilizing various accounting software and tools, enabling them to efficiently handle financial transactions, streamline processes, and provide timely, accurate financial reports.”

Ameera Hanif
Intermediate Accounting Associate
Ameera Hanif holds a Bookkeeping Certificate from Algonquin College. She has more than six years of experience in bookkeeping with multiple private firms. Ameera joined Accountrain in May 2022; she enjoys taking on new challenges and finding solutions. Ameera is a helpful and dedicated person who is always willing to go the extra mile to meet her client’s expectations.
In her free time, Ameera enjoys cooking, traveling to new places, playing Golf, and spending time with her friends and family.

Jennifer Romain
Intermediate Accounting Associate
With over 25 years of experience in the accounting field, Jennifer has an expertise in accounting principles and procedures.
Jennifer has extensive experience in business administration and bookkeeping, and her appetite for numbers and problem solving is fed by her enjoyment in her current role with accountrain.
In Jennifer’s downtime she enjoys spending time with her family and is anticipating the arrival of her first grandchild. During the summers ‘glamping’ is her favorite activity and in the cold winter months when not hibernating she can be found on a beach down south.

Tracey Clayton
Intermediate Accounting Associate
Bookkeeping has been a passion for Tracey since high school. At 16 she received the highest mark in her bookkeeping class, and she also worked for her father’s Commercial art studio as his bookkeeper. She continued her pursuit, after graduating with honours from Herzing institute as a legal secretary (which included a bookkeeping ertificate). She left her job at a prestigious Law Firm in Toronto to work for David Tilson (former MP) in Orangeville, Ontario, where she further developed her skills managing his law firm’s books.
For 25 years Tracey ran her own company, as the administrator and bookkeeper, in theMontreal area. She also managed the books for small companies, during this time. She hasgathered many years of experience in Quebec. Tracey is bilingual and has experience helping business owners, individuals and has been treasurer for several volunteer organizations.
For the last 8 years Tracey has been working as a Financial Manager, and Head Bookkeeper andis now enjoying being part of the accountrain team.
On a personal note, Tracey is a mother of three grown children. She enjoys biking, gardening,reading and has developed a passion for Europe. She also uses her creative talents to make cakes for special occasions.

Renuka Kapoor
Intermediate Accounting Associate
Renuka is a qualified Chartered Accountant from India who also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce.
She has 8 years experience in Finance & Accounting including an internship and working her way up to being promoted and becoming a partner in a CA firm. She also has experience working for a Multinational Company.
She is a self directed, versatile and hardworking professional with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. She is grateful to accountrain inc which gave her the opportunity to reintegrate into the work force and launch her career in the Canadian Market. She is a quick learner; with that her mentorship has provided her with a portfolio which includes a variety of clients.
On the personal front, she loves to spend time with her family especially her son and also likes to listen & read spiritual things.

Sneha Jena
Intermediate Accounting Associate
Sneha is an accounting professional with over five years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation.
With a background in corporate sectors, she applies a detail-oriented and analytical approach to every engagement.
She holds a Postgraduate Degree in Advanced Accounting and Finance from York University and an MBA in Finance. Her career focuses on financial operations and month-end close processes. She has experience in payroll management, financial analysis, and software systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Sage 300.
Driven by clarity and organization, she translates complex financial data into actionable insights, enabling her clients to focus on growth while remaining assured of their numbers.
Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her pets. She is committed to continuous learning and uses her skills to support mission-driven organizations and small businesses alike.

Will Hillock
TAX SPECIALIST
Will is a CPA, CA who helped small and medium sized businesses for over 5 years while working for a mid-sized public accounting firm. Now working in private industry, he continues to work with accountrain inc to keep his skills sharp and for the enjoyment of engaging with various clients who all have different needs.
When he’s not catching up on the most recent tax law changes, you’ll find him on the golf course working on his swing. Will also enjoys travelling the globe and is a foodie at heart.
